Create the document
The editor is a single screen: line items on the left, a live document beside them. Quantity, unit, rate and amount recalculate on every keystroke, and every amount is held as an integer number of minor units — cents, pence, yen — so nothing is ever lost to floating-point drift.
- Seven document types. Invoice, estimate, receipt, credit note, proforma, delivery note and purchase order, each with its own numbering sequence.
- Estimate to invoice in one click. An accepted quote converts to an invoice carrying its line items, its client and a link back to the original.
- Discounts and tax where you need them. Percentage or flat, per line or on the whole document, with named tax rates, compound stacking and a tax-inclusive mode.
- Terms that fill the due date. On receipt, Net 7/15/30/60/90, end of month or a custom number of days.
- Rename anything. Every printed label is overridable per document, so “Invoice” can read “Tax Invoice” and “Balance due” can read whatever your market expects.
Make it look like yours
Six layouts — classic, modern, minimal, bold, compact and elegant — each on A4 or US Letter, with your logo, an accent colour and a serif, sans or monospaced face. Free PDFs carry one small “Made with LaloDocs” line in the footer; Pro removes it and lets you write your own footer instead.
Send it and know it arrived
- Instant PDF, no account. The document is rendered in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to create it.
- Email with a hosted link. With a free account you can email the document with your own reply-to address, or share a link that works without email at all.
- Read receipts. The hosted page records when the document was first opened and how many times it has been viewed, and moves the status from sent to viewed.
- Mobile share sheet. On a phone, the PDF hands off to WhatsApp, Messages or anything else in the system share list.
Get paid
- Pay-now button and QR code on the hosted page and on the PDF itself, once card payments are connected.
- Offline payments too. Record cash, cheque or bank transfer against an invoice; a receipt is generated automatically and the balance updates.
- Partial payments and deposits. Take a deposit from an accepted estimate, collect the remainder later, and let an overpayment become a credit rather than an error.
- A real status lifecycle. Draft, sent, viewed, partial, paid, overdue, void or written off — the dashboard and the reminder engine both read from it.
Chase without nagging
Late payment is the actual problem this product exists to solve. Pro adds reminder sequences that fire before the due date, on it, and at your chosen intervals after it, with copy you write once. Recurring invoices generate on a weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly schedule and can send themselves. Late fees apply as a flat amount or a percentage, with a grace period and a ceiling.
Keep the records
- A client book and an item catalog that autocomplete into new documents.
- CSV import and export for both, so moving in — or out — is not a trap.
- Dashboard totals for outstanding, overdue and paid over 30, 90 or 365 days.
- A/R aging, revenue by client or item, payments and tax-collected reports on Pro.
Work anywhere
LaloDocs installs as an app, keeps working offline, autosaves every draft and supports undo and redo. The whole editor is operable from the keyboard, and the interface targets WCAG 2.1 AA. Documents can be written in thirteen languages independently of the language you use — so you can work in English and send a Rechnung or a factura.
Build on it
The API tier exposes the same document model over REST with API keys, webhooks for invoice.created, invoice.sent, invoice.viewed and invoice.paid, an OpenAPI description, and an MCP server so an assistant can draft an invoice for a human to confirm.
