Making the invoice is the easy part

Fifty-nine percent of US small businesses are carrying invoices more than thirty days overdue, and the average wait to be paid is close to a month. Producing a PDF does not fix that. Everything below the download button is where the product actually lives.

Questions people actually ask

Do I need an account to make an invoice?
No. Open the generator, fill it in and download the PDF — there is no signup, no email wall and no limit on how many you create. An account only adds what genuinely needs a server: emailing, payment links, history, reminders and reports.
Is it really free, or free until it matters?
Creating documents and downloading PDFs is free permanently and is not metered. Free accounts get five emailed sends a month; Pro raises that and adds recurring invoices, reminder sequences, reports, late fees and branding removal.
Is there a watermark on the PDF?
Nothing is stamped across the document. Free PDFs carry one small "Made with LaloDocs" line in the footer, which Pro removes and replaces with your own text.
Where does my data go?
On the free path, nowhere. The PDF is generated in your browser and the draft is stored on your device. If you create an account, your documents are stored on AWS in the United States and you can export or delete everything yourself at any time.
Can I tell whether my client opened the invoice?
Yes. Every emailed document also gets a hosted link. When it is opened, the invoice moves from sent to viewed and records the time and view count — so "I never received it" becomes a checkable claim.
Can I invoice in another currency or language?
Both, independently. Pick any of 30+ currencies, and set the document language separately from your own — you can work in English and print a Rechnung, a factura or a facture.
What about tax?
Add as many named tax rates as you need, apply them per line or to the whole document, stack compound rates, and switch between tax-exclusive and tax-inclusive pricing. The PDF prints a per-rate summary.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. The generator is built mobile-first, installs as an app, works offline and hands the finished PDF to the system share sheet, so it can go straight into WhatsApp or Messages.
