Terms of service

The rules for using LaloDocs — including the one that matters most: do not use it to invoice anyone fraudulently.

Last updated 25 July 2026

1. Agreement

These terms govern your use of LaloDocs, the invoice generator and the surrounding service. Using the service means you accept them. If you are accepting on behalf of a company, you are confirming that you have the authority to bind it.

2. Your account

You do not need an account to create documents and download PDFs. An account is required to email documents, share hosted links, collect payments or keep history. You are responsible for keeping access to the mailbox that receives your sign-in codes; anyone with access to it can access your account.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use LaloDocs to:

  • Send fraudulent, deceptive or unauthorised invoices. This includes invoicing for goods or services that were never supplied or ordered, impersonating another business or person, sending an otherwise real invoice with bank details substituted for your own, and any other business-email-compromise or advance-fee scheme. This is the single most serious violation of these terms and it results in immediate and permanent termination, with a report to the relevant authorities where appropriate.
  • Impersonate any person or organisation, or misrepresent your affiliation with one, in a document, an email or a business profile.
  • Send unsolicited bulk email, or use the service in a way that harms the deliverability or reputation of our sending domains.
  • Produce pay stubs, proof-of-income documents, tax forms or any other record intended to misrepresent employment or earnings.
  • Invoice for anything illegal where you or your recipient are located, or for goods and services prohibited by our payment providers.
  • Upload malware, attempt to breach or probe the service, evade rate limits, scrape at scale, or use automated access outside the documented API and its published limits.
  • Infringe anyone’s intellectual property, or use a logo or brand you have no right to.

4. Screening, limits and suspension

Outbound email is rate limited and is screened automatically before it is sent. We may delay, refuse or block a message, and we may suspend or terminate an account, where we reasonably believe these terms have been breached or that the service is being used to defraud someone. Where a suspension is a mistake we will restore access promptly; where it is not, the decision is final. Free accounts have a monthly cap on emailed sends; creating documents and downloading PDFs is not capped.

Every email and hosted page we serve carries a link to report the document. Reports are reviewed and acted on.

5. Your content

Your documents, logo, client records and business data remain yours. You grant us only the licence needed to run the service: to store your content, render it into a PDF, display it on a hosted page you have chosen to share, and email it to recipients you have specified. You confirm you have the right to include every piece of information you put on a document, including personal data about your clients, and that you will handle that data lawfully.

6. Plans and payment

The free plan is free and stays free for creating documents and downloading PDFs. Paid plans are billed in advance through Stripe on the interval you choose and renew automatically until cancelled. Cancelling stops the next renewal and leaves you with access until the end of the period you have already paid for; we do not pro-rate partial periods. Prices may change with at least 30 days’ notice, never mid-period.

Where you collect payments from your own clients through LaloDocs, the money moves through your connected payment provider under that provider’s agreement with you. We are not a party to the transaction between you and your client, we do not hold your funds, and a disclosed platform fee may be applied to processed payments.

7. Not professional advice

LaloDocs is software for producing commercial documents. It is not accounting, tax or legal advice. Tax rates, tax identifiers, invoice numbering rules, mandatory content and electronic invoicing obligations differ by country and change frequently — what a document must contain to be valid where you operate is your responsibility to confirm, with a qualified adviser where necessary. We make no representation that a document produced here satisfies any particular jurisdiction’s requirements.

8. Availability

We aim for high availability, particularly on the hosted invoice and payment pages, but the service is provided as is and as available. Planned maintenance, third-party outages and force majeure happen. Because the free PDF path runs entirely in your browser, it keeps working even when our servers do not.

9. Warranties and liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, nor for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data or an invoice that a client fails to pay. Our total aggregate liability is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 100. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, and consumer rights under mandatory local law are unaffected.

10. Termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time from account settings; deletion is immediate and irreversible. We may terminate for a breach of these terms, or with 30 days’ notice for any other reason, and in that case we will refund the unused portion of any prepaid period. Export your data before you delete anything — after deletion we cannot get it back.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes are announced by email to account holders and take effect no sooner than 30 days after the notice. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new version.

12. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the courts of that state have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory local law gives you the right to bring proceedings where you live.
